Bristow, VA - Jiffy Lube Live

September 27th, 2025
Bristow, VA
Jiffy Lube Live

Preface: We had been to this venue previously, about 10 years ago, and were excited to return. But, this time we had a special guest! Daniel’s mom!

Show Notes: Similar to previous shows the setlist was filled with the new album, though it did see the movement of “Down Under” toward the top of the setlist instead of middle to bottom as it was previously. This set was also special because after playing acoustic the band returned to the stage and performed Tirtha Yatra with SOMA (the opening band for the show). This was a very special moment for everyone and you could see their joy as they were able to do this. Daniel had previously spoken to the band online and they were super friendly so we were beyond excited to see that is also how they carry themselves at shows. It was clear that everyone involved was overjoyed to be able to bring this collaboration to life on stage in front of over 10,000 people.
This show was also the first time in which we hadn’t seen Snipe Hunt followed by Tulsa Turnaround. Tulsa Turnaround was scrubbed from the setlist all together and Snipe Hunt was moved to the next to last song.
Other than random song movements and Shake the Frost being played with the band there wasn’t much more to note about the setlist. Everyone at this show was super tight knit and it should go without saying but it was an amazing experience overall.

Venue Notes: To be frank there aren’t too many qualities of note for this venue but it’s not a bad venue overall. As with most pavilions there’s the average food and beverage options: cheeseburgers, pizza, chicken strips, Pepsi products, alcohol, slushies and merch options in almost every corner it seemed. This venue is simply a venue made to hold concerts.
In our opinion the staff running this show was there if you needed an extremely friendly or tucked off to the side for optimal viewing of showgoers, but the actual venue itself is nothing more than a pavilion.
If you’re wanting to see and hear a great show it’s worth going to but if you’re looking for something to stand out and blow your mind it simply can’t provide that. Again, there is nothing wrong with the venue itself, it’s just an absolutely no frills venue that’s sole goal is to host a concert - which they do well.

Parking Notes: Parking is free here which is amazing because if it wasn’t free people would revolt. Parking is on site but quite a distance from the entrance with very limited signage on where to go. We ended up parked about a mile from the venue and the actual walking distance was probably closer to 1.25 miles. Again, free parkers can’t be complainers so we’re totally fine with the distance. Leaving for us was a breeze but to be transparent this is because we left earlier in the set than we normally would. All in all the parking here lines up with the venue itself, it’s completely no frills and simply a parking lot made to hold concert goers.

Travel Notes: Similar to the Charlottesville show we took highway 29 nearly the entire way. It’s an amazing trip as it allows you to take in nature and also allows for some stops along the way. There isn’t much in the way of sight seeing and your options for food are going to be fast food unless you’re in Charlottesville, Lynchburg, or Bristow. But, the trip itself is certainly something to take note of. During the fall this is an absolutely beautiful route filled with falling and changing leaves.

Bonus: As mentioned we had a special guest! Daniel’s mom has now seen Tyler Childers and the Food Stamps for the 3rd time! Previously she’d gone with us to see them in Charlotte and at Bourbon and Beyond. As always she’s a welcome addition to the trip as she provides a new view to things and she’s able to point out things she enjoys from the show as well.
She was somewhat unfamiliar with the new album so the whole show was awesome for her. It allowed her to see a completely new setlist she’d never seen before and also be introduced to SOMA and Medium Build.
She also made some friends in the line to enter - which she seems to be a professional at.
Sadly, on the way home the trip was marred by white smoke from under the car hood 3 hours from home. Turns out our power steering pump decided to give out, causing the belt to slip and leading to this smoke and engine issues. Fortunately, we made it home safely but the repair was quite costly.
Chalk it up to things to expect when driving thousands of miles but still not a great thing to have to deal with. In the end, we always remember we’re lucky to be able to do these trips and we’re even more lucky to be able to bring along family and friends; if the cost of a power steering pump is something we have to deal with to continue doing these things then so be it.
