Events You Might Find Us At
And Others You Won’t
Ohana Festival - Dana Point, CA
The 10th anniversary of Ohana Festival will be hosting none other than Tyler Childers and the Food Stamps (along with ~35 other bands and artists). While we’ve never been to the Ohana Festival it’s been on our festival bucket list for awhile; but sadly we won’t be making this one either. Ohana seems to blend a laid back environment with upbeat music usually catering to the indie rock crowd. Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam is a mainstay at this festival as he’s a co-owner and also does a solo set.
In our experiences going to festivals this whole set up means it’ll be an amazing fest. Lower than average crowd size, smaller stages, bigger bands, and a focus on creating a laid back environment. Ohana has seemingly set itself as a west coast, smaller, version of Austin City Limits which is an amazing festival in its own right. You don’t want to miss this festival as we’re sure it’s going to be amazing.
Dana Point, CA is nearly an hour south of LA and an hour north of San Diego. Due to its proximity to these major cities we don’t expect that you’ll have much trouble finding a hotel for an affordable price. And, if you’re looking to have some real adventure, Dana Point is only about an hour and a half from Tijuana. Bring your passport and enjoy another country while you also get to see a great concert!
Dana Point also sits on the pacific ocean and since you’ll likely be traveling I-5 north or south you’ll have wonderful views of the ocean along your trip. Honestly, we suggest checking out both LA and San Diego if you’re able to and have the time. When we went to California last we only went to LA and while we had an amazing time we felt like we should have also checked out San Diego as well.
As for fun things and good food, we highly recommend checking out Randy’s Donuts which is located in Inglewood. This is arguably the best donut shop in the entire US and is world famous for their huge doughnut sitting atop their roof. The artist who made the poster for Tyler’s 2025 stop at the Hollywood bowl actually included Randy’s in their art. We could go on for days and days about local food and whatnot in LA and San Diego but truthfully we suggest hitting the streets and finding something that you enjoy while taking in the California lifestyle.
Please also note that Ohana Festival historically doesn’t have on site parking and requires you to purchase a parking pass in advance for an off-site lot where you’ll be shuttled in. However, in 2025 they did open up some parking that was closer and an easy walk to the venue. At this time there is no information on whether or not that same option will be available this year.
As we always keep our opinions transparent we should HIGHLY suggest that if you can buy a parking pass and park closer and avoid a shuttle you should. In our experiences anytime any event uses shuttles to take people to their cars at the end of the event it’s a nightmare. It’s simply an impossible feat to do in a quick time with thousands of people leaving at the same time. You either have to leave early to beat the others or risk being stuck waiting on a shuttle for sometimes hours. Always buy the parking pass if it’s an option and also consider finding local parking elsewhere if at all possible.
Golden 1 Center - Sacramento, CA
The Golden 1 Center is in downtown Sacramento and used to be home to the best University of Kentucky Wildcat to ever play (if Daniel’s opinion matters): De’Aaron Fox! The arena has a capacity of over 19,000 for concerts and this place will be rocking for Tyler and the boys! Northern California isn’t as used to getting major concerts in the way that Southern California is so this is going to be a welcomed event by everyone in the area!
The venue is littered with food and merch booths and outside the venue is filled with tons of food options within walking distance.
Given that it’s located in the middle of downtown the parking is extremely limited. We suggest checking out ParkWhiz or SpotHero to get a parking spot because there are so many options ranging from $10-$100+ and due to the limited parking these options change frequently and giving you advice or what to expect price and distance wise wouldn’t be realistic in every situation. ParkWhiz and SpotHero are pre-paid parking apps which secures your spot so that you don’t have to worry about it come show day (at time of writing there aren’t spots available as far in advance as the show date). There are also plenty of bus stops and light rail options and we suggest checking out local information closer to the day of the show to ensure stop times and making sure you’re at the show on time!
Similar to other Californian cities in its size, Sacramento is much more laid back and historic than other cities in the state and it’s the state capitol. There are ample riverfront shops and boutiques plus many historical museums. Some of the restaurants along the river offer a riverfront deck seating experience. If you love animals the Sacramento Zoo is one of the best zoos on the west coast.
Wednesday will be kicking the show off with their fierce guitar melodies and wonderful sound before Tyler Childers and the Food Stamps take the stage for the FIRST TIME EVER in Sacramento!
Climate Pledge Arena - Seattle, WA
SEATTLE, WASH-ING-TON! Climate Pledge Arena, is about, well exactly what their name says, helping the climate. The first carbon neutral arena in the world, they use reclaimed rain water to create their ice hockey rink. They also aim to be a zero waste facility and divert a high percentage of waste away from landfills. They also encourage public transit use to help cut down on carbon emissions and even encourage their staff to take public transit to and from work.
Over 3/4th of the food vendors in the venue are locally sourced and they’re all over the venue for your needs.
Climate Pledge Arena is absolutely downtown and if you’re able to find a way to take a photo from above you’ll be able to get the entire Seattle skyline in the photo. It is an absolutely gorgeous facility with amazing views all around it. It is so close to the Space Needle that it’s actually considered to be in the same district - the Seattle Center Complex. The Seattle Center Complex is home to the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass, a science center, and the museum of pop culture.
Because of their desire to be carbon neutral there is limited parking around the venue itself. However, the city offers pre-paid parking through SpotHero (which already has spots for this show on there at less than $15 a piece) and ParkWiz which are less than a mile walk from the venue. There are garages owned by the arena which are less than a quarter mile away but very limited. Additionally, there is free parking at some Amazon owned garages around the area but be warned they’re over a mile away from the arena.
Truthfully, we recommend finding some friends and cutting your carbon emissions, getting to the venue super early, and parking at the garage owned by the venue on 1st St. If that isn’t your cup of tea and you want to lessen your carbon footprint more you can opt for the free transit pass - King County Public Transit Pass - which is able to be used 2 hours before doors open and 2 hours after the show ends (you have to download the Kracken + CPA app to acquire this pass).
Wednesday is still making their country wide tour with Tyler and the boys as they roll into Seattle. They’re an amazing opener and will certainly get people out of their seats with their heavy riffs and 70’s-esque rock style mixed with some modern rock.
Moda Center - Portland, OR
The Moda Center home of the Portland Trailblazers (and Damian Lillard; one of Daniel’s all time favorite NBA players)! Formally known as the Rose Garden the newly named Moda Center houses over 20,00 people for concerts and hosts many different events throughout the year including Monster Jam and arena football.
Be aware though that since this is a basketball arena there are limited direct line of sight seats. There will be plenty of floor seating but most seating outside of that will not have a direct view of the stage. Not to say that the view will be bad from any seat, just be aware that this is going to be a unique concert set up as it is with any arena.
Given that this is a big city and a huge draw there are several ways to get to and from the venue, you can use public transit like the TriMet bus or MAX light rail. There’s a bus stop that stops right at the Moda Center for convenient entry.
Parking wise it’s very limited, the Garden Garage which is attached to the Moda Center has 1,038 parking spaces which cost around $40 a spot. While there are parking garages around the arena, they’re super limited, so we recommend that you Uber or take public transit from where you’re staying to get the full effect of being in Portland.
Portland is a beautiful city which is home to plenty of gardens, notably the Lan Su Chinese Garden which is in the Old Town Chinatown district which is only about 3/4ths of a mile from the Moda Center. Also, the Portland Japanese Garden is about a 15 minute ride away and is very much worth the time! This garden is tranquil and has a waterfall, zen garden and beautiful flora.
Food wise people RAVE about Frank’s Noodle House which is a family run Chinese noodle restaurant. Spirit of 77 is a bar that’s located just a half mile away (DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE IT’S ONLY A HALF MILE! JUST WALK!!! - but also be safe walking, please) and it’s best described as a sports bar with a modern twist. They have several taps and tons of can and bottle options, along with food and some basketball arcade games. This is one with Wednesday and Scott T. Smith on the line up and they will both continue to bring an amazing addition to this tour!
Good Moon Music Festival - Durham, NC
Good Moon Music Festival is back after a 1 year hiatus! Headlined by Sylvan Esso two nights and Tyler Childers one night, this festival is not something you’ll want to miss!
Previously this festival has been held at the local athletic complex and the Durham Bull’s stadium but this year it seems that Tyler Childers will be playing the Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC). The DPAC is just 1 of seemingly 4 locations bands and artists will be playing. The other 3 include The Pinhook, Boom Club and American Tobacco Campus.
The Pinhood and Boom Club are staples in the Durham music scene hosting an array of different bands, often smaller and more local. While the American Tobacco Campus is an entertainment complex which hosts concerts, has food and drinks, and is better described as a nicer shopping mall area where you can have a date night and see a concert.
We can not express enough how AMAZING the DPAC is. Daniel’s first time seeing Willie Nelson was at DPAC and he goes back every time he finds a reason. The idea of Tyler being able to belt out songs in what is nearly a perfect acoustic setting is absolutely unreal and a must attend for anyone! The DPAC’s capacity is sub-3000 so we expect this to be a very unique show and much more intimate than others typically are. We’ve honestly never been so excited to see Tyler in our home state and to couple that with Sylvan Esso who are from North Carolina as well is just the icing on the cake.
For our take on the local food and whatnot we suggest taking a stroll through the American Tobacco Campus and picking out some local food to try. Obviously it’s North Carolina so we’d recommend the Tobacco Road Sports Café which specializes in southern foods and has about 50 TVs on the wall so you can watch every game all the time.
If you’re coming from the west we’d highly suggest stopping by Hippo Records in Greensboro or Winston-Salem. The Greensboro location is the original location and you can often find the owner there and spend some time chatting with him about all types of music. They have the best prices, offering thousands of records for $1 each on their bottom shelf, and are the friendliest folks around. If the owner, Patrick, happens to be there, mention that some Tyler Childers fans sent you there and he’ll know exactly who you’re talking about.
Also, right down the road from Hippo Records in Greensboro is Hops Burger Bar which was rated as the best burger in America about 10 years ago. While the original is very tough to park at and the line is often long it’s certainly worth the wait.
We also suggest staying in Greensboro versus Durham. Greensboro is slightly under an hour drive to Durham but has much larger options for things to do during the day if you’re not going to spend your whole day at the festival. In the event you are spending your whole day in Durham for the festival we recommend splurging and staying at the 21c Museum Hotel in Durham. While it’s more costly than other hotels in the area, this one is steeped in art, modern amenities, and frankly is the best hotel around.
Tyler Childers and the Food Stamps will be playing Friday, October 9th with aja monet opening! aja monet is known for her poetry and spoken word music and will certainly bring a new experience to the stage that we haven’t seen from any other opener!
The Pinnacle - Nashville, TN
Zyn Presents: Tyler Childers at The Pinnacle! What an interestingly unexpected collaboration. To be honest when we saw this was posted we almost couldn’t believe it. Upon doing some more digging we were able to confirm its existence and even gain some information.
This show will be hosted for Zyn Rewards Members who’ve turned their rewards points into concert tickets. For 3,000 Zyn rewards points you’ll be able to get 2 tickets (while supplies last). Currently we have a lot of unanswered questions because at the time of writing no one in the Tyler camp has even acknowledged the existence of this show.
Notwithstanding, the Pinnacle is an AMAZING venue! It’s a little bit theater, a little bit music hall, and a little bit dive bar, all rolled into one amazing venue. Offering floor or balcony seating there isn’t a bad spot in the house and for it’s relatively small size (4.5K capacity) this venue has hosted some massive stars.
We couldn’t express enough how if you’ve got some extra Zyn rewards laying around you should use them for this particular show.
As always with Nashville shows we’ll mention the Game Terminal, a great arcade located outside of downtown with tons of free to play standups and tons of other pay to play games as well. Aside from the obvious things to do in Nashville, which is made easier because the Pinnacle is off of Broadway, we’d recommend checking out the Ryman Auditorium which is within half a mile of the Pinnacle. The Ryman is arguably the most known venue in all of Nashville having housed the Grand Ole Opry from 1943 until 1974. Enjoy your time in Nashville as you get into a seemingly pretty exclusive experience here!
Hersheypark Stadium - Hershey, PA
***NEW DATE*** Moved from June 11th to August 14th***
Historic Hersheypark Stadium! What an insane place to see Tyler Childers and the Food Stamps ticketed at, in the best way possible. Having opened in 1939 Hersheypark Stadium has housed plenty of major events from international soccer games to bands such as the Eagles and Grateful Dead.
Located in, you guessed it, Hershey PA this venue is in the middle of 'The Sweetest Place on Earth.' Centralized around chocolate attractions. Hershey PA offers anyone with a sweet tooth ample places to enjoy starting with Hershey Park.
Hershey Park is the largest theme park in PA and offers everything you'd need in a theme park: rides, food, and Reese's. Enjoy your time in this city, it's a very fun and unique place! Also, Hershey Chocolate World sits next door to the stadium so there's no excuse for not buying a ton of chocolate (unless of course you're allergic).
Parking here is pretty ample. There are several parking lots around the venue and with a smaller capacity of 16,000 leaving should be a breeze.
This is the last stop on the tour for Evan Horner so arrive early and show him some love for opening up at this historic venue.
We also suggest arriving early here so that you can check out local fare around the venue. There's a Tanger Outlet and The Boardwalk at Hershey Park located within walking distance. Don't miss out on a good time in this city!
Darien Lake Amphitheater - Darien Center, NY
***NEW DATE*** Moved from June 10th to August 13th***
Did someone say Six Flags!? Darien Lake Amphitheater and Six Flags share a parking lot! Get there early, ride some rides, and catch a concert! Though it should be noted that Darien Lake Amphitheatre is in a pretty remote area and the adjoining parking lots seem to be fairly small. It'd be advised to ensure you're there early if not to ride rides just to have a good parking spot.
The amphitheater itself is a very unique design. Slightly pitched front to back it doesn't appear you'll have any obstructed views unless you're in the lawn area and behind a pole that holds up the canopy over the seats. A few rows of the back seats are actually not covered if you're buying seats in hopes of avoiding weather we'd suggest getting closer seats to ensure your seat is covered.
The aforementioned canopy is an absolutely massive and unique feature, it rises super above the stage into the air and is held up by metal poles protruding out of the ground. We've never seen a concert under such an awning so we can’t comment on how this material will affect the sound throughout the show but we’ll be very curious to hear from our followers how it handles the lights that will be bouncing off its white underbelly.
Evan Honer is the single opener for this show and this guy is amazing! Please do not miss this set! And please go stream his music before the show!
Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre - Greenwood Village, CO (Previously Boulder, CO)
Folsom Field! Tyler Childers and the Food Stamps are back again! Home to the first drone show in the history of their touring, Folsom Field is clearly a special place to the guys! We expect this to be another stellar show highlighted with an amazing crowd!
Folsom Field is a football stadium that holds around 50,000 people and is normally home to the University of Colorado. There’s limited parking around given that the venue is located on a college campus so we highly suggest taking public transit or Uber to get there. In the event you do want to park closer and not have to wait on someone else to pick you up when you’re leaving then paying for parking is well worth it! ~$50 for a parking spot close to the venue is, in our opinion, well worth it since parking is so limited. We recommend buying a parking pass as early as possible (they’re not on sale at time of posting) and getting to the stadium as early as possible.
Boulder is a suburb of Denver and we absolutely love its spot nestled up against the Rockies. It’s one of the most amazing cities we’ve ever visited. Also, you can’t possibly pass up a trip down to Red Rocks Park in Morrison and checking out random mountain sights while in town.
In a major reunion Jon Batiste is back to fill the second opener spot. Jon is an amazing artist and you shouldn’t miss any chance to see him live! Additionally, Wednesday is still making their rounds with the boys and will be opening the show. Wednesday is a female fronted alternative rock band who is well worth checking out even if rock isn’t your cup of tea! We’re beyond excited to see this lineup together for the 2nd time on the tour!
The Folsom Field show has been relocated to a familiar venue for Tyler and the boys, Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre. The band last played here in 2023 a couple days after their back-to-back shows at Red Rocks. Fiddler’s Green is a great looking venue and is notable for its use of - well you guessed it - the color green. The seats are green, the rails are green, the light poles are green, you get the picture.
Fiddler’s Green also boasts one of the most beautiful lawn sections of any amphitheater you’ll ever see; this is mainly due to its views of the Rocky Mountains in the background. Much closer to downtown Denver than the originally scheduled location in Boulder, Fiddler’s Green is ripe with opportunity to enjoy things before and after the show. There are literally restaurants lining the street blocks away on Greenwood Plaza Blvd.
The venue also sits right off of I-25 which provides quick and easy access to the rest of Denver. Be mindful that parking is very limited around the venue if you’re purchasing a pass through the venue itself. We recommend parking somewhere like the Village Center Station Garage which houses way more cars and is only about a quarter of a mile away (you can find this on SpotHero and at the time of writing parking for the show is only $27).
The lineup for the show didn’t change so it’s still going to be Wednesday followed by Jon Batiste opening up. Each of these artists are amazing in their own right. Jon is known for his piano playing abilities which surpass most that you’ll ever see live, while Wednesday are known for their mixture of different styles like shoegazing and country. They’re both artists you’ll want to see live over and over again so we can’t stress how important it is to get there early!
Casey's Center - Des Moines, IA
Des Moines, Iowa. Capital City. Home of the Iowa State Fairgrounds and Tyler Childers and the Food Stamps for only the 2nd time ever! In fact, Tyler has only played Iowa 4 times thus far and two of those times were festivals. This should go down as a very good show given the situation and desire for him to be back in this area of the country.
To be in such a small market the Casey’s Center is actually relatively large holding over 16,000 people. The venue also sits on the Des Moines River and right on the Rotary Riverwalk Park. Typically we’d suggest going downtown and checking things out, and we’re not discouraging that here, but for this one we’d recommend taking it easy and enjoying a nice stroll down the riverway or walking up to the Lauridsen Skatepark that’s within 300 yards of the venue.
Des Moines is an underrated town and luckily for people going to the show the city seemingly has parking figured out. There’s plenty of parking within walking distance of the venue and also a hotel within a quarter mile of the venue if you’re wanting to walk.
For the opener of this one Wednesday is going to kick it off! We can’t put into words how excited we are to see them on all these shows, it’s a much deserved platform that they’ve earned and we hope everyone in Iowa walks away agreeing!
Morton Amphitheater - Riverside, MO
Well, we’ll be honest, this venue isn’t even open yet at the time of writing this so to give you any idea of what to expect would be kind of a lie. It’s supposed to be nice, they say. We’ll see when we get there! Seemingly, the Missouri River is the closest “cool” thing to check out. This venue appears to be tucked away out of the city center and away from much else.
We’ve spent some time in Kansas City before and for the sports fans we recommend checking out Arrowhead and Kauffman Stadium (they share the same parking lot so you won’t have to go too far to see them both), they’re both great stadiums and worth spending some time to venture to.
Additionally, there are tons of museums in Kansas City and a very nice aquarium and zoo! Kansas City is also known for their barbecue so make sure you find a place to grab some while in town!
Wrigley Field - Chicago, IL
Wrigley Field. Wrigley fucking Field! Unless you're under the age of 5 we're assuming you know how big this one is! And, in case you are under the age of 5, we're going to explain it anyway! Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs, has been open since 1914, it has live ivy growing on the outfield walls, holds over 41,000 people, has hosted Pearl Jam, Jimmy Buffett, Lady Gaga, and now Tyler Childers and the Food Stamps.
These hallowed grounds have seen the 2016 Chicago Cubs hoist the Commissioner's Trophy and now they'll be seeing CJ Cain, Matthew Rowland, Craig Burletic, Rodney Elkins, Kory Caudill, James Barker, Jesse Wells, and Tyler Childers bringing a sale out crowd to their feet for 2 hours!
Wrigley sits a couple blocks from Lake Michigan, is on the north side of Chicago and is surrounded by hotels and residents so don't expect to find cheap or easy parking. Our suggestion is to go online to a trusted parking deck/lot in the area and buy through them. Personally we're going to Uber to this one from outside the city just to have the full Chicago experience with a driver who knows the area better than us.
Wednesday will be kicking the show off and they're certainly a band worth being there for! This will be their 2nd date on the tour and I can only imagine what it's like for them to know they'll be opening for one of the most historic Tyler shows ever.
Also, we can't fail to mention that Jon Batiste will be there - that's right Jon freaking Batiste! While known for his music to most Jon is also a renowned civil-rights activist who uses music to connect people. We can't put into words how amazing it is to see him on a lineup with Tyler and we can't tell you enough how much you need to see him live!
NEVER MISS A SUNDAY SHOW!
Hollywood Casino Amphitheater - St. Louis, MO
Hollywood Casino Amphitheater you’ve outdone yourself when it comes to parking! This venue may have the most on site, well lit, and paved parking of any venue you’ll ever go to! What the Hollywood Casino seems to lack in frills it makes up for in the parking lot situation! Though we do suspect that with most amphitheaters leaving might be a drag considering the amount of on site parking and how many people the venue holds (20,000).
While the venue is considered to be in St. Louis it is removed a fair bit from the city center and tucked away in the north west of the city so there isn’t much of note directly around the venue to check out. But, it’s still St. Louis and you’ll be able to find something downtown to do before or after the show. There is a casino across the street which might be of interest to some of you.
Wednesday and Scott T. Smith are at this show opening, and we must admit we’re super excited to see Wednesday (however we won’t be at this show so that time must wait)! Wednesday is from North Carolina just like us so you know we’re extra pumped for when our time comes to finally see them. They’re an alternative rock group who will quickly remind you of bands like Fleetwood Mac in some songs and later surprise you with some heavier guitar riffs.
Scott T. Smith makes his way back on the line up here after a few shows away. Scott is a must watch for anyone who is at this show! We’ve now seen him open in Greenville and were stunned at how great him and his band were live! Don’t miss this set!
Buckeye Country Superfest - Columbus, OH
Buckeye Country Superfest is housed inside ‘the Shoe’ and for those not up-to-date on college football stadiums that’s the home stadium for the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Shoe, nicknamed for its horseshoe shaped design, can hold over 100,000 people. That’s correct, One Hundred Thousand.
Known to others by its government name, ‘Ohio Stadium’ is a beautiful stadium which seemingly captures Roman-type architecture on the outside and early-90’s NASCAR track architecture on the inside. Upon walking in you’re surrounded by concrete and loudness. You walk under the seats as you’re making your way to whichever section you’re seating in and can easily find merchandise, food, or bathrooms anywhere.
Once you make your way to your seat (assuming you’re in the bowl seats and not the floor seats) you’ll be met with metal bleachers which tightly pack the thousands of fans around. Be advised these aren’t the most comfortable seats you’ll ever sit in but in fairness they’re not made to be. This place is made to encourage people to get on their feet and yell for 3+ hours every Saturday that the Buckeyes host a visiting team.
Similar, at this concert we’d recommend getting on your feet for the music and sitting during set changes. Having been to this festival before we can tell you that parking is a breeze as long as you arrive early. We parked essentially across the street from the entrance and made it in very quickly. Leaving was also fairly easy given the amount of people who were in attendance. Allow for ample time to leave though because moving 100,000 people from anywhere isn’t an easy task.
Railbird - Lexington, KY
Back to the Red Mile! Railbird Music Festival is held on the infield of a horse racing track, pretty apropos for the location in Lexington, KY. This is the “hometown” show if you will for the guys and as usual we expect this will hold significant weight with the band.
We attended Railbid in 2023 and absolutely loved it. We have a local hook up for parking so our experience was less upsetting than others but through the grape vine we heard of long waits to leave and long walks to get to a spot to get an Uber. While we didn’t personally experience these situations we did find that leaving from where we parked was almost impossible given the amount of people walking and general traffic.
The Red Mile is located right in the middle of everything that happens in the city and even regular business traffic can be expected. We recommend getting there super early to avoid as much of this as you can. Railbird as a festival experience overall is amazing.
Last time we went there were ample merch booths and vendors. The vendors were far enough back that you weren’t in the way of others watching the concert when you were in line but also close enough that you didn’t miss any of the action. Its sprawling grounds allow for tons of fun as you can just hangout in the back if you’d like or make your way closer to the stage where people are also spread out. Be advised though, this festival is deceptive when it comes to crowd size.
The sprawling grounds with ample free space are an illusion the closer you get to the stages. This was one of the most packed crowds we’d ever been in as the night drew near and everyone was preparing for headlining sets. There are TONS of people who are there and it’s not until you’re trying to get close to the stage that you really get to see that. Railbird will be a festival we’ll attend anytime Tyler Childers and the Food Stamps are there given its location and how amazing the festival itself is.
Bon Secours Wellness Arena - Greenville, SC
For the first time in 3 years and second time in 6 years, Tyler Childers and the Food Stamps grace the state of South Carolina! Thankfully for us this is a super quick and easy trip and will also be the first time we’ve seen them play in South Carolina. They’ll be taking the stage at ‘The Well’ AKA Bon Secours Wellness Arena which currently houses the Greenville Swamp Rabbits; a professional hockey team.
This arena is super unique compared to others on the tour because it’s in a much smaller market and seats only a little over 14,000 making it the smallest venue on the tour.
To be honest, Greenville is a modest town which will likely remind you of your home town. It’s a very southern type town that has grown over the years. We advise checking out the Greenville Zoo which is usually less than $20 to enter. And, for the sports fans, we must tell you to stop by the Shoeless Joe Jackson Museum and Baseball Library but beware it’s only open from 10am until 2pm on Saturdays! So, stay the night and check it out before you head home.
Greenville is home to several great restaurants as well but if you’re looking for a unique experience we’d suggest eating at ‘UP on the Roof’ which boasts a roof top view unlike any other you’ll find in the city. Be mindful that this is a much more pricey restaurant than we’d typically recommend but considering the atmosphere we do find it worth at least a look. It’d also be a good idea to make a reservation before going as it does get quite busy and even more so on a Friday night in June.
Coca-Cola Amphitheater - Birmingham, AL
Coca-Cola Amphitheater where to begin? To say this venue is high on our list of must attend would be an understatement. This venue is state of the art and so new that you can’t even see an aerial shot of it on Google Maps yet. On approach to the venue you are welcomed with a towering stadium like entrance - similar to going to a college football game. A massive brown colored entrance has restrooms lining its edges and a monitor for you to enjoy the show from there.
But, despite how amazing the venue looks from outside, the inside is much more impressive. A monstrous stage height, bright lights, and huge monitors are what you can expect to see when looking at any artist you see here. The venue does appear to have a slight upward angle going away from the stage out to the seats so if you’re in the pit or floor seats you’ll have a good view even if the person in front of you is taller. Then, in the back, you have typical stadium-like seating where each row is well above the other so you’ll have an unobstructed view.
Honestly, for venues like these we try to always get good seats when we purchase ours but we’ve looked over this venue and think that anywhere in the venue will be an amazing view. While there are options to select luxury boxes and tables we will likely not opt for those, but be aware that is an option at this venue.
New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival
New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Fest! An absolutely historic festival that takes place in the heart of New Orleans and about 10 minutes from the French Quarters. This is an absolute bucket list festival for most people and for us alike! We’ve been waiting for this moment for awhile because this festival is so unique. It blends music and art into one festival. Multiple genres are always housed at New Orleans Jazz Fest and this year is no different.
Along with Tyler and the boys, weekend 1 of the festival includes Stevie Nicks, Lorde, Jon Batiste, Nas, Sean Paul, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Bruce Hornsby, Leftover Salmon, and many, many, more!
Aside from the festival and French Quarters we recommend checking out the New Orleans Museum of Art which is walking distance from the festival grounds. Also, we would highly suggest checking out the New Orleans Botanical Garden which is also within walking distance of the festival. You should have plenty of time for this because New Orleans Jazz Fest ends at 7pm! That’s right, 7pm! You can actually get a full nights sleep before coming back the next day around 11am.
This is such an amazing and historic festival that we could go on and on about how excited we are but we’ll spare you. Obviously it’s New Orleans so get some seafood, check out some graveyards, and enjoy the music!
Dos Equis Pavilion - Dallas, TX
Dos Equis Pavilion in photos may seem to be just another amphitheater but what you can’t see in those photos is the location! Doe Equis Pavilion sits across the street from the Children’s Aquarium, the Cotton Bowl, and the grounds for the Texas State Fair. Arrive early and check out the local sites, you’ll have a blast!
As for the venue itself it’s got plenty of on-site or close parking which is handy since the venue is a 20,00 person capacity venue. While we’ve never been to this pavilion before we do expect it’s going to house your regular concert food fare and ample merch opportunities given that it’s a LiveNation owned venue.
Bottom-line, get there early for easier parking, enjoy the local sites, and be in before Scott T. Smith takes the stage so you can see everything this place and artists have to offer!
Geodis Park - Nashville, TN
Geodis Park! Where to begin with this one? While we haven’t seen Tyler and the guys play this stadium yet we have had the fortune of seeing a couple of soccer games here. This stadium, better known as the Castle on the Hill, is top notch! Daniel is equally as big of a sports fan as a music fan and this park is one of his favorites.
The huge fans lining the walk ways, the use of material to make the concourse slip resistant, the steepness of the upper deck so that even the furthest away seem close, it’s all amazing. The design of this stadium is unmatched when it comes to the concert world and we’re happy that our first show there will be Tyler Childers and the Food Stamps. We can’t recommend enough getting there early to take in the food at this spot!
Geodis doesn’t proudly bolster this so we will - all the food vendors in the stadium are local to Nashville. If it’s in the stadium it’s locally owned or locally operated. We could continue all day about the small details that make this location perfect but seriously just go see for yourself.
And, fingers crossed everyone comes out wearing some shade of gold so the locals can scream “Come On You Boys in Gold” just like they do at full throat for 90 minutes nearly every weekend during soccer season.
Jiffy Lube Live - Bristow, VA
And we’re back! Just like that the Stamp Tramps are back on the road again! There’s not enough we could say about Jiffy Lube Live. This venue is a favorite of ours on any tour. The lawn is huge and while walking in seemingly towers above you; photos online do it no justice.
Bristow, VA is a nicer area located right off I-66 coming from the east or west. For us we come from the south and take Hwy 15, which is usually traffic free until right outside the venue. Beware though, being a show on a Saturday you always risk running into DC traffic if you’re coming from any other direction than the south. Be early! Do not risk missing the show if you’re dealing with DC traffic!
This show, like the previous two, open with Soma, followed by Medium Build. We can’t say enough about our excitement to see both of them! Never miss an opener, people!
Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - Camden, NJ
You guessed it! We’ll be in attendance! One of us has been to the venue before and absolutely loved it. Trust us, take time to get there early and venture to the lawn! You will be greeted with an amazing view of Philadelphia sitting across the river from the venue. It will be absolutely amazing as the sun sets.
Aside from the venue as the time gets closer to this show we’ve been enjoying Soma and Medium Build more and more. So much so that we’ve debated upgrading our tickets to be closer - instead of in the lawn.
Medium Build has opened for Tyler before and Tyler is seemingly a big fan (he’s recently been seen donning a Medium Build shirt in videos while he recorded the new album). Soma, originally, seemed to be a very unique billing however with the release of the new album and Tyler opening up about his travels to India it seems they fit right in.
John Paul Jones Arena - Charlottesville, VA
The lone remaining rescheduled date on the tour! Half of the founders will be in attendance for this one. With no opener slated, at the time of writing, we’re hoping that this means Tyler and the boys will give us a longer set than usual; though I tend to believe that’s way too optimistic.
Neither of us have ever been to John Paul Jones Arena but we’ve read great things about the venue online. Keep your eyes peeled for the blog entry after the show!
Healing Appalachia - Ashland, KY
Come and join us at our 3rd straight Healing Appalachia! Newly located in Ashland, KY this festival is always an amazing time! Spend some time doing research before you go and learn about the vendors who will be there! There are tons of arts and crafts vendors from the area who would love for you to stop by and check out their stuff!
Healing Appalachia has been notorious for the boys absolutely bring their best to the stage and we don’t think this year will let y’all down! Plus Chris Stapleton, Molly Tuttle, Remi Wolf, Blackberry Smoke, The Infamous String Dusters and many, many more will be there!
