Des Moines, Iowa. Capital City. Home of the Iowa State Fairgrounds and Tyler Childers and the Food Stamps for only the 2nd time ever! In fact, Tyler has only played Iowa 4 times thus far and two of those times were festivals. This should go down as a very good show given the situation and desire for him to be back in this area of the country.
To be in such a small market the Casey’s Center is actually relatively large holding over 16,000 people. The venue also sits on the Des Moines River and right on the Rotary Riverwalk Park. Typically we’d suggest going downtown and checking things out, and we’re not discouraging that here, but for this one we’d recommend taking it easy and enjoying a nice stroll down the riverway or walking up to the Lauridsen Skatepark that’s within 300 yards of the venue.
Des Moines is an underrated town and luckily for people going to the show the city seemingly has parking figured out. There’s plenty of parking within walking distance of the venue and also a hotel within a quarter mile of the venue if you’re wanting to walk.
For the opener of this one Wednesday is going to kick it off! We can’t put into words how excited we are to see them on all these shows, it’s a much deserved platform that they’ve earned and we hope everyone in Iowa walks away agreeing!
