For the first time in 3 years and second time in 6 years, Tyler Childers and the Food Stamps grace the state of South Carolina! Thankfully for us this is a super quick and easy trip and will also be the first time we’ve seen them play in South Carolina. They’ll be taking the stage at ‘The Well’ AKA Bon Secours Wellness Arena which currently houses the Greenville Swamp Rabbits; a professional hockey team.
This arena is super unique compared to others on the tour because it’s in a much smaller market and seats only a little over 14,000 making it the smallest venue on the tour.
To be honest, Greenville is a modest town which will likely remind you of your home town. It’s a very southern type town that has grown over the years. We advise checking out the Greenville Zoo which is usually less than $20 to enter. And, for the sports fans, we must tell you to stop by the Shoeless Joe Jackson Museum and Baseball Library but beware it’s only open from 10am until 2pm on Saturdays! So, stay the night and check it out before you head home.
Greenville is home to several great restaurants as well but if you’re looking for a unique experience we’d suggest eating at ‘UP on the Roof’ which boasts a roof top view unlike any other you’ll find in the city. Be mindful that this is a much more pricey restaurant than we’d typically recommend but considering the atmosphere we do find it worth at least a look. It’d also be a good idea to make a reservation before going as it does get quite busy and even more so on a Friday night in June.
