Preface: Our first show of the tour! Only 2 and a half hours from home! And, in a venue we’d never been to before! What a joyous time!
Professor Jesse Wells
Show Notes: This show was great! The band is playing as fluid as ever, adding their own tweaks to songs while still managing to keep the rhythm with others. The new visuals were a great treat to us, bringing a much more immersive feeling to the whole show.
The setlist was the same as Birmingham sans Old Country Church which was replaced with Purgatory. Personally we could go either way between these songs. Fan favorite wise Purgatory is probably the more preferred song so we’ll give this setlist a slight uptick in rating compared to Birmingham.
The guys notably started at 9:30 which is different from the usual 9:00 start we’re used to seeing over the last few tours. However there’s a new intro which is much shorter than the previous 10 minute version. This one is only around 3 minutes. While we don’t particular care one way or the other about the length of the intro it was nice to have a countdown this time and was nice to see the new changes.
Prior to Tyler and the guys taking the stage we were blessed with seeing Scott T. Smith and the Hurricanes and Evan Honer. Both bands we’d never seen before. What a great choice it was for these 2 bands to open! Evan Honer was a masterclass in how to bring energy to the stage while also being able to maintain a good musical sound. Scott T. Smith, while a lot less energetic, was much more fueled by passion. You could feel his words in your soul, which we believe is the whole point. We’ll be seeing them both again shortly with and without Tyler after last nights performances.
Realistically, this show seemingly has set the tone for the tour in a way that we believe the setlist will only chance slightly given how they’re feeling on a certain day. As usual you can still feel that you’re likely not going to see the EXACT same setlist each night but you can tell that they’re becoming more dialed in on a group of rotating songs and a group of mainstays. We suspect that throughout the tour it’s going to be important to be at many different shows to catch those one off songs which won’t be played the remainder of the tour.
Venue Notes: Amazing. As simple as that. Padded seats in the lower bowl where we sat. Quick entry. Plenty of workers helping you get in, a person at the top of each section to help you find your seats if needed, self check out concessions, it really doesn’t get much better than this! We could go on and on with the positives about this place and it makes it hard to find any negatives and really we couldn’t find any.
It’s not that you’re in a brand new venue packed to the gills with new technology and things to look at but rather you’re in a venue meant to host events and they have a great mix of things to look at and concrete to walk on. You feel like you have plenty of room to move around, you feel welcomed, and you know it’s going to be a fun time.
What they don’t have in ‘new-ness’ they have in effort to make the fans as happy as possible. 10/10 we 100% will be back to this venue because solely because of the venue.
Tyler Childers Snipe Hunt Tour 2026
Parking Notes: Parking was $20 for us and we parked a half mile away. A 5 minute walk uphill made for a good 5 minute walk downhill back to the car. It was literally right off the highway; no seriously, the interstate dead ends into the highway and the venue is RIGHT there.
Plenty of people were working all these smaller parking lots, and most importantly it was close to the venue and an easy in and out. If you’re heading back north you want to park on the left side of the street though to avoid having to make a U-turn. If you’re heading downtown, or south, the right side of the street is much better for the same reason.
It should be noted we had to use Cash App to pay but that was specific to the lot we parked in so we’re not sure if this is common practice everywhere. We did notice signs that said “cash only” as we walked past other lots though.
Travel Notes: We made the trip to Greenville coming from North Carolina. This is a trip we’ve done a couple of times now. It’s simple and sweet.
Greenville is a great city and we were going to check out Saskatoon’s but ended up not having time so we just ate at the venue. Saskatoon’s is a highly rated wild game restaurant which has tons of different and unique options.
We also looked at Tsunami which is a sushi and Japanese restaurant very close to the venue and is open well after shows end. We decided to forgo that as we were heading back home that night and the show didn’t end until around 11:30.
The travel here is kind of uneventful leaving from North Carolina as it’s literally just a straight shot.
