That’s right, Tyler Childers and the Food Stamps are going to be making their not so long awaited return back under with two stops; Newcastle and Sunshine Coast - back to back nights!
This Sunshine Coast show will be held at the Kawana Sports Precinct which is home to a stadium, several sporting fields, and an aquatic centre.
From what we can gather online this seems like a fever dream of a venue for us given our love for music and sports; we’re quite envious of anyone who is able to attend!
What we do lack in local knowledge we make up for heavily in Australian cultural knowledge! Australia has long been home to some of our favorite things on earth namely the YouTube channel ‘How Ridiculous.’ To be honest we typically wouldn’t put so much emphasis on a YouTube channel but we’re telling you if there’s a channel to check out it’s these guys.
Formed in the late 2000’s by 3 friends who attend church together How Ridiculous blended ‘Dude Perfect’ style trick shots with science. Finally finding their natural form in the late 2010’s the guys switched away from trick shots and more to dropping things off a huge tower - you read that right.
As the years have gone by and their platform has grown they’ve ventured into other things like making the worlds longest basketball shot off a cliff in Africa and creating a “Hulks Fist” to drop through bullet proof glass at nearly terminal velocity.
How Ridiculous’ crew and main cast are very much like Tyler Childers and the Food Stamps. Similar to the philanthropic things Tyler Childers and the Food Stamps do, the guys at How Ridiculous helped the Gravity Discovery Centre stay afloat during the Covid-19 pandemic - raising over $50,000 toward the effort!
Also, much like Tyler and the fellas having fun on stage, you can see in the How Ridiculous videos that these guys are just truly friends who are blessed to have the platform they do and to be able to bring joy to others. In all seriousness these people are great people and are well worth the views!
Back to Australian staples to check out; if you can’t make the show and you’re feeling depressed throw on our favorite Aussie TV show: Kath and Kim! What an absolute gem of a show and the people in the US who haven’t watched or heard about it yet are totally missing out!
Sadly the Stamp Tramps won’t be at either show so we’ll be hanging out at home, eating Tim Tams and cheering on the North Melbourne Kangaroos!
