Georgetown, KY - Country Boy Brewing

October 8th, 2024
Georgetown, KY
Country Boy Brewing

‍ ‍Preface: Blessed be the person who told us how to get tickets! Albeit, we did do a lot of work to find out about this show. If it wasn’t for a random Redditor we wouldn’t have gotten tickets.‍ ‍

Awaiting the fellas!

Show Notes: This show was announced very shortly before it was going to happen. The original announcement was that it’d be live streamed and you could purchase a pass to watch the live stream.
We reached out to the foundation, Hood to the Holler, that was sponsoring the event to ask if tickets would be sold to the actual live show and they were kind enough to let us know that was the plan.
Once we had confirmed that tickets would be sold to this we patiently waited and it wasn’t until someone posted on Reddit about it that we were able to get tickets. If it wasn’t for them making that post we would have had no idea where to get these tickets - we owe that person whatever they want!
We grabbed our tickets the day before the show, drove the 8 hours, and watched Tyler Childers and the Food Stamps play for a crowd of 100 people in the middle of the evening.
This was a super unique experience to say the least and while the setlist wasn’t any different (other than closing with Detroit City) than we’d seen recently that didn’t matter.
It was great to see the boys playing earlier in the evening, in a brewery, and knowing it was being live streamed to tons of people across the country.
This whole concert was to raise awareness for Hood to the Holler which is a foundation that encourages people to get out and use their power of voting to make changes in the world. Connecting the hoods of eastern Lexington to the hollers of eastern Kentucky their goal is to show everyone they’re not so different.
This entire event was a wonderful reminder that no matter how big an artist might be, or how unknown a foundation might be, everyone’s voice carries the same amount of weight when voting. As always we’ll suggest you get out and vote and make your voice heard!

Tyler Childers and the Food Stamps at the Hood to the Holler Live Stream

Venue Notes: Country Boy Brewing is a beautiful facility, however not made for concerts. They hosted an amazing concert and did it well but never once do you forget you’re in a brewery; which is GREAT!
The restaurant eating area had tons of space and there were plenty of TVs around to watch your favorite sports when it’s not concert time. The actual area where the concert was held was surrounded by brewing machines and was obviously the most unique place we’ve seen Tyler Childers and the Food Stamps.
We’d highly recommend checking out Country Boy Brewing when you’re in the area!
‍ ‍
‍ ‍Parking Notes: Parking was amazing. We parked right across the street from the venue for FREE. And it was a short walk. This is clearly due to it being at a brewery that parking was so ample and close. ‍ ‍

Travel Notes: Given how late we ended up getting tickets we had to travel pretty quickly. We left in the morning and came back that same night. We did try Ale-8-1 for the first time on this trip!
As most trips to Kentucky we crossed the Big Sandy River which is ‍always a highlight we’ll mention; stop and get a photo if you have time! ‍
