Costal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek

‍ ‍Preface: A home state show is back! For the first time this year we’re seeing Tyler Childers and the Food Stamps in North Carolina! ‍

Tyler Childers’ On the Road Tour at Coastal Credit Union Music Park

Show Notes: This show was delayed because of an illness Tyler had so the anticipation for this one was much higher than some.
To kick it off Tyler Childers surprised us by starting on the B-Stage and playing acoustic first. We hadn’t seen the show start like this yet so it caught us off guard!
The setlist included Gemini and Jersey Giant; both of which we didn’t think we’d see! Jersey Giant was recently debuted at Kroger Field and we thought this might be a once and gone song but apparently not!
Gemini is a song we absolutely love and it rarely makes a setlist so to see this in our home state was well worth the wait!
Aside from those unique parts the setlist was very similar and loaded with hits. It seems that each night more and more people know the songs being sang and it’s a wonderful experience to be surrounded by people who are there for the same reason!
Also, to kick off the Food Stamps involvement in the show they played Tulsa Turnaround. We know we harp on this song every time but until you see this song live you can’t understand how well it shows off the bands ability!
When Tulsa is being played it’s as if the band cranks it up to 11 simply to prove they can do it. We hope this song finds its way onto most setlist for the course of their careers.

Venue Notes: Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek is, despite its name, nothing special. Sadly it’s one of the closest venues to our home and it’s unremarkable in most cases.
It’s a venue made to house large music acts and it does that just fine but there’s nothing special about this venue. It’s very average for a pavilion.
That being side there’s nothing remarkable negatively either aside from their parking.
It’s average. You’ll have a good time but not a great time in regards to the venue,‍ ‍

Parking Notes: Parking here is horrid and has been for years. Honestly just plan on being in your car for at least an hour before getting to the main road on exit.
They also seemingly know how horrid their parking is and offer these INSANE parking rates to hurry your process. “Premier Parking” - $75. “Reserved Parking” - $120. “Ultra Reserved Parking” - $150 “Easy Out Parking” - $175. “Ultra Easy Out Parking” - $199.
You read those prices right. From $75-199 for improved parking spots instead of just fixing the issues the other 10,000 fans face.
This has always been an issue at this venue. Save your money and just hangout in the parking lot after the show. ‍ ‍

Travel Notes: We don’t have much to offer in this regard since the venue is about an hour and a half from us. If you go to Greensboro stop by Hippo Records and check out their wide selection! It’s our personal favorite record store in the state and we stop by quite often!
